How To Take Good Care Of Your Prescription Eyeglasses
Nearly 60 percent of all Americans use prescription spectacles but much of them are completely not aware of how to take proper care of their prescription spectacles. Damages can happen if spectacles frames are not well taken care of. Below will assist you to take care of your spectacles and as a consequence, care for your vision until your physician says it’s time for a new set.
Don’t leave your spectacles under the sun or shower with the spectacles on because the shape could be changed. When doing outdoor activities in a cold temperature, be aware of the plank material frames and the glass lens, they might be cracked or damaged easily.
Never place them down on the floor because somebody will always step on them.
In no way wipe them with an abrasive or dirty cloth (even a tee-shirt), and never wipe them without wetting them first.
While wiping the lens, use one hand to hold the bar (not the leg), and the other one to wipe them softly. Or else the frame will be off form or the screws might be relaxed before too long.
If the lens are too dirty or dusty, you’d better utilize the washing liquid or clean water to wash them off first, then utilize the lens cleaner to wipe them softly to prevent the lens being scraped.
Get the glasses properly suited to your face by a professional, and obtain another fitting whenever they feel unfastened. Or else the lens can come off or the screws could get lost.
Take your spectacles off when you lie down, even when you’d like to read or watch TV.
Start from the left leg whenever you fold up the frame since most of the frames were designed like this. If you begin from the right leg, it is harder to fold them up and can alter the shape of the spectacles.
When theyre on, guard them with your hands if anything comes flying.
Don’t position the prescription eyeglasses lens face down on the table. If you keep them face down, the centers of the lens can be scratched.
Use both hands when you put on or take off your spectacles ? softly hold the legs of the spectacles using both hands to maintain the balance.
Any sweat and oil on the frame or the bridge can be wiped off using dry cloth or tissues. Other dirt can be cleaned off using a little bit of soap or going through the ultrasound cleaning in the opticians.
Always keep your eyeglasses in a hard case when you’re not wearing them, even if you just remove them to sleep.
Try to avoid steam, smoke, sweat and some of the cosmetics whenever you can. You need to keep your spectacles away from them if you wish to lengthen their usage life.
Always clean them wet, never clean them dry.

Hats & Eyeglasses $1.99 Martha Frankel grew up in a warm, loving family of diehard gamblers, where her father’s poker games and her mother’s mah-jongg blended happily with big pots of delicious food and endless gossip. As kids, she and her cousins bet on everything—from which of their Weight Watching mothers would lose the most to who could hold their breath longest underwater or eat the most matzo. But once Frankel left for college and later became a successful entertainment journalist, gambling didn’t factor much into her life. She thought her family legacy had passed her by.In this “fast-paced and amazingly funny” (The Times- Picayune) memoir, Frankel traces her love affair with poker, an obsession that didn’t hit until her mid-forties. And she was good at poker. Frankel won routinely, whether she was playing in her Wednesday-night poker game or in one of the seedy, out-of-the-way rooms she always managed to find when on assignment. But all this changed when she discovered online poker. It was the beginning of what one of her uncles called “hats and eyeglasses,” a term used to describe those times when you’re losing so bad your ship is sinking until all that’s left on the water’s surface are your hat and eyeglasses. By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, Hats & Eyeglasses is a tale of passion, addiction— and those times in life when we almost lose our shirt. |
